Who We Are

Our Mission: To improve water quality and the condition of the Upper Gila Watershed.

Activities

The Gila Watershed Partnership members attend monthly meetings to identify and address watershed problems, and develop solutions. We design programs and projects, and seek grants and volunteer help from the community to implement them. Past projects have included the sealing of saline wells, erosion control projects, a fluvial geomorphology study, a river clean up project, and many more. We are involved in a comprehensive water plan, to help us determine how much water we have and how much we are using. Quarterly meetings are held to inform, educate, and involve the community in current environmental issues. Our executive committee members are involved with many local, state, and federal governmental agencies, assuring that our watershed’s interests are taken into consideration when policies and laws are made.
